I Press Onward. . .
We Press on...
Philippians 3:12-16
12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
We, by no means, are perfect people, and personally I haven't met anyone on earth who is nor will we ever (plenty though. who'd like to think they are). Only Jesus holds that perfection!
Looking back, reflecting on life past can be useful, it just depends on what you do with it. To take all our past experiences, learn from them and use the wisdom gained, for our future, to better ourselves and to shed light to others on how we can better our Christian walk is a way how we can make a difference in our life ahead and others, with Christ. We cannot live in our past, sit in it or wallow in all that has happened to us, nor shall we live in our glory days, all the achievements we made. We have so much ahead of us in Christ Jesus, so much more to attain in our daily walk! Yes, glance back, take notes but use what happened as a stepping stone and learning tools for the future.
14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Press on, dear child, press on. Go forward, going after all that Jesus has for us. God has such amazing plans for us all (Jeremiah 29:11), so much to do for His Kingdom. We cannot achieve any of it if we are constantly living in the past. We're not fit for the Kingdom if we hold our hand to the plow and look back. (Luke 9:62 But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”)
15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.
16 Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.
Keep moving forward, press on, walk with God, doing His Work for His Kingdom, for His glory always!
